We are celebrating 22 years of soaring the skies of the Garden Isle in powered gliders and have shared the breathtaking experience with over 23,000 people!

Your FAA-certified instructor will show you the basics of flying these amazing aircraft. From exhilarating takeoff to taking the controls of the aircraft to enjoying the breathtaking view of the coastline, lush valleys, canyons, white sand beaches and brilliant turquoise waters, you are in for an experience and adventure of a lifetime!

Birds in Paradise:

  • Operates multiple aircraft so friends and family can experience the thrill together
  • Has highly experienced instructors
  • Has top-notch aircraft maintenance
  • Offers advanced flight training
A camera mounted on the wing will record your experience for you to share and keep for a lifetime.

We visited Birds in Paradise with one person eager to learn and another who was scared of heights and afraid he was going to die. By the end of the lesson, both were smiling from ear to ear and proclaiming their desire to become licensed pilots. From the moment you arrive the staff at Birds in Paradise puts you at ease with amusing banter and by exuding tremendous experience and competence. The flight lesson itself is spectacular, visiting some of Kauai's most beautiful attractions by air. Students get to fly their aircraft if they like, all under the watchful eye of the instructor."

 Epic Kauai

Gerry Charlebois' newest film, “Epic Kauai” takes you on a journey around the spectacularly breathtaking and lush island to places never before filmed. It showcases Kauai’s unique adventures and natural beauty.

Soar in a powered glider along the Na Pali coast into Waialeale Crater, and then skim the reef break at Anini Beach. Plunge 50 feet below the surface of Wailua Falls, dive the rock wall at Niihau and frolic with a pod of dolphins. Explore the remote Kalalau Valley, kayak into sea caves, kite surf in 15-foot waves, dive for lobsters at night and take in the sunset in sublime Hanalei Bay. Read about the film in the Hawaiian Airlines in-flight magazine Hana Hou!
